HAA5 (five regulated haloacetic acids) Water Contaminant Info

HAA5 (five regulated haloacetic acids) are a class of Disinfection Byproducts that includes Dibromoacetic Acid, Dichloroacetic Acid, Monobromoacetic Acid, Monochloroacetic Acid, Trichloroacetic Acid and has a minimum reporting level of 0.5 µg/L and a reference level of 60 µg/L.

Notes
  • Since HAA5 is regulated, EPA is using a different authority (Section 1445(a)(1)(A) of SDWA) as the basis for UCMR 4 monitoring. The MCL was based on a consideration of cancer and non-cancer effects.
